Minimal Pairs Partner Challenge

(Summer 2017: The last few SSBE soundfiles are being uploaded. Thank you for your patience and don’t hesitate to contact me if you can’t find one you’re looking for.)

Your partner says the sentence with ONE of the words (Tommy is kin.).

You reply by choosing the appropriate response or comment.

For example:

  • Partner A says “Tommy is kin.” and expects to hear Reply 2.
  • Partner B hears “kin” and (correctly) replies “We can’t kick him out of the house!”
  • Partner B hears “keen” and (incorrectly) replies, “I’ve never seen him so excited before!”

*The possible Replies appear in alphabetical order. For example, in BEAT/BIT, the first sentence has two possible replies, which start “I‘ve never” and “We can’t”.
